relative to your stats your ECs are a little weak, but then again you have supurb stats. Write good essays and chances are you'll get into at least one your top choices.

Yeah ECs seem to be my major weakness.
I've felt like I've been doing a lot throughout my high school career, but in the end when I look back on it, it's actually not much, and I can't go back and change that.

I'm only applying to 8 of those schools (not saying which), but I really want to know if I'm missing out on any matches that I have taken off of my list...

I am most interested in knowing my chances for UNC - chapel hill as an out of state applicant as I may be in the situation of having to not apply to U Washington, but I wouldn't want to remove a safety if I don't have a really good shot at UNC.

I hope this isn't offensive, it isn't meant to be. But, it will help that you are Asian.

I thought that it would actually hurt me, or at least not help me at all, since I'm applying to a lot of top schools where Asians are already overrepresented...

But no, I don't find comments like these offensive at all. :)

Being Asian does not help you; in fact, it hurts you. You're a minority but not underrepresented.

Being female helps you at tech schools, but you are not applying to any of them.

^Yeah that's what I was saying...

anyone else?

Your 2300+ test score will carry you into most of these schools. Yale, Princeton and Duke are still longshots because the ECs are a bit light relative to the competition.

You'll get into at least 80% of the rest of your list.

Good luck.

anybody want to break them down for me? reach-match-safety so i can compared to how I personally ranked them? thanks

Princeton: reach
Duke: slight reach - reach
University of Chicago: high match - match (depending on your essays)
Vanderbilt: match - safe match
Emory: match - safe match
Washington University in St. Louis: slight reach - high match
Yale: reach
Brown: slight reach - high match
Johns Hopkins: high match - match
Georgetown: match
Carnegie Mellon: match - safe match
University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill (Out of State): match
Sewanee - University of the South: not sure
University of Washington: safe match - safety
University of Washington Honors: match

These are approximations, of course.

I strongly suggest that you don't apply to Vandy and UNC. Why? Because you'll take my spot, that's why.

Sewanee -- safety, with a great shot at a merit scholarship
