Chance me please?

Freshman year of High School: HORRIBLE GPA...2.0 I think at it's lowest.

I left school at that point to become home schooled I got my HSED (Which is like a GED except it is a high school diploma). With my score it said I graduate at the top 10% of traditional high school students. Relevant? Not sure..but surely an improvement from my horrible freshman GPA.

I am a freshman at a community college in Madison, WI.

Mid-Term GPA-3.75 (hopefully I will be improving that somewhat.)

ACT/SAT-Did not take..but University of Wisconsin-Madison does not require them.

Recommendation- Not needed, but I plan to get one from my English professor who teachers part time there and maybe one from another professor.

EC- I do some volunteer work that's about it.

The only school I am applying to is University of Wisconsin-Madison. Do I have a realistic chance of getting in with my low GPA my freshman year of high school?

If it is not realistic...can someone give me some ideas of a realistic college I could transfer to?

Transferring to UW is realistic. You do need to beef up your EC's, and will need a good statement as to why you want to transfer to UW. Moreover, the later you apply the less that high gpa will matter. You'll need to communicate to them how your work ethic has changed since then.

It's easy!!! Just do it!!!!
