So the ucs are harder to get into than cornell? Thats pretty intense. Also i actually had a q, which i had asked in some other thread before but would just like to get cleared up. In the visual arts requirement, ucs say u must have a year of visual arts. Well this year i am taking art 1 and ceramic 1 should this suffice, or must i take art 1 then art 2. My main question is that do they have to be a continuation of a certain visual art?

^ Ahh, that sob rule was such a pain in the ass. It’s actually 1 YEAR LONG art class. I moved to CA before my senior year, so I had to retake an art class even though I had already taken 1.5 years of art class before. So, I called and if your school doesn’t offer a year long class like mine, they need to be in the same year, I don’t think the art1/2 vs. art1/ceramics1 matters, but you might want to call them just in case.

Solid Essays. Decent Recs.
Almost increasing GPA trend (just messed up with one B in AP Phys 2nd semes)
Reason for poor start (not sure if I’ll mention this in my essay), but moved from Minnesota to CA at beginning of 9th grade… had to make new friends, get used to the place while balancing school work at the same time

From these first few weeks, Senior year grades are looking solid.

Thanks!

^^DUDE YEAH. I hate that rule. I had to drop out of gov to take some stupid art class to finish the credits. It was the only AP besides histories that I actually liked too…

@Hydralisk, I’d like to say that I had almost the same stats as you and got in, although flopsy or the older people on the board will probably list you as a slight reach/reach.

I know! >:[ I had to take a 4th period! (block system) with absolutely the stupidest woman I’ve ever met, I wanted to stab her so bad. Seriously, that ***** was talking about the shapes that go into drawing a person and then she drew a diamond on the board and called it a triangle, a TRI ***ing angle and she said that a nectarine was the hybred (yes she spelt it that way) between a TANGERINE and a plum.
I’m leaning toward Cal right now for business, but I love and actually prefer the atmosphere at UCLA. But as they are pretty similar in their admission process and applicant pool, it comes down to who will accept me.

And I know, the Art class requirement sucks! I wasted a year in Exploratory Art doing trivial things, and it lowered my GPA as well. I didn’t know you could take the class at a community college…

match, i think you are in at ucla and cal
