Chance me please!

<p>I'm not sure if I can get in with my GPA...but I'm still wondering what my chances are at Columbia's FU foundation school of engineering.
It says they accept 24% of their applicants.</p>

<p>unweighted GPA: 3.6
weighted GPA: 4.2
SAT score: 2110
9th: 5 honors
10th: 6 honors, 1 AP
11th: 2 honors, 3 AP
12th: 4 AP, 1 honors</p>

<p>volunteering:
~hospital gift shop: 10th, 11th, 12th, every saturday
~museum: 10th summer
~bank: 10th once
~did some stuff for the charity club at my school
have 300+ hours</p>

<p>extracurriculars:
~ecology club: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th
~debate team 10th, 11th, 12th...won a few tournaments
~national honor society: vice president 11th, 12th
~science honor society 11th, 12th
~math honor society 11th, 12th
~dance for 10 years and participated in stage plays
~singing for 4 years
~engineering club
~biotech summer camp</p>

<p>awards:
~winner of regional vocab bee 3 times--got invited to nationals
~won first place for a singing contest twice
~published a story for teenink.com</p>

<p>~i'm also working on publishing a scientific paper--I interned at NIH, the summer of my junior year and did research.
~i organized a dance program for little kids, made money, and donated the money to charity.</p>

<p>Honestly, I don't know anything about Columbia engineering but you look like a well rounded applicant. I would say though that it would probably be somewhat of a reach since they take so few applicants. Other schools to look at would be RIT, URochester, Tulane, Case Western and Lafayette. <p>how are your sat II and ap scores?
your gpa and mediocre (for columbia) sat score will probably be the factors that work against you, but if you've performed strongly in math and science classes and your essays reflect interest, you have a chance!</p>

<p>the fact that you're a girl applying to an engineering school will definitely help too ^.^</p>
