<p>Hey! I am an Indian international applying to Oberlin (RD). I am in need of FA.</p>

<p>Here are my stats:-
SAT:- 1780 (Math-570,CR-560,Writing-650,Essay-10/12)
I know its a really low score compared to the ones I have seen on this site who are applying to such colleges.</p>

<p>CLASS RANK:- Top 10%</p>

<p>APP ESSAY:- I think its stellar. Verified it with so many profs , teachers and my cousins in studying in some of the top schools in the States!</p>

<p>My EC's are also very very good. Above average I would say. Won a lot of prizes in major Model U.N Conferences in the region , Debating , Drama and Quizzing. </p>

<p>My Secondary School report is also excellent with straight A's except Hindi (which is a B!)</p>

<p>So please could anyone chance me??</p>

<p>Thanks Fanatic517! I forgot to mention..My rec's are also really good.
I have also stated my leadership qualities i.e My role as the President of Student COuncil of my school and my tenure as House Prefect.</p>

<p>You sound pretty good, coming from an Indian international who got in. The SAT score is a little low, though. Did you take SAT IIs?</p>

<p>I did take the Sat Subject tests though I didn't submit the scores to Oberlin . Oberlin dosen't state that they need SAT Subject Scores do they? I thought the SAT Reasoning score is all they need?</p>

<p>You can't select which ones you send in. If you sent in your Reasoning scores after you received your Subject Test scores, then they got both.</p>

<p>Oh crap! My SAT 2 scores are really low.. I got a 540 in Phy and a simliar 540 in Math Level 2. I was hoping to send only my SAT Reasonng Test scores..But then I checked in Collegeboard they send the whole damn thing!!</p>

<p>But will the Oberlin AC consider this? Because my secondary school report shows really good marks.Along with good EC's , recs and essay will they consider this?</p>

<p>I mean my SAT score is just mediocre I agree but I hope they just don't take their decison based solely on my SAT1/2 marks!!! </p>

<p>My admission chances look really weak right now...</p>

<p>Oberlin "strongly recommends" SAT IIs, if I remember right? I'm not sure... I think you have a fair chance. The decision won't be solely on the SAT I and IIS, but they definitely play a part. Your school report is the most important thing, though.</p>

<p>And will Oberlin need access to my CBSE Board results (But they come out in May!!). Because if I put up a good show in the boards then will it be a major factor affecting my admissions?</p>

<p>That is the purpose of the SAT 2...to see which schools inflate grades.</p>

<p>You sound fine. My friend got in with lower test scores than you...then again, you are an Indian Int...makes it tougher.</p>
