I'm becoming more and more interested in Northwestern University, and I was just wondering if I could be chanced to get into the school. Here are my stats:

I'm a Junior, first, so I still have through some of my Senior year (I want to get all of my applications in by October)

4.471 GPA - Weighted
4.000 GPA Un-weighted (straight A's throughout high school)

ACT: 30 Composite (reading killed my score because it was a 21, but since I have worked on it a lot, my reading should be around 28-32 on the next ACT I take)
SAT: 2040 (1340 Math + Verbal) (again, the Verbal [reading] section hurt my score; was a 620 on my last SAT; should be around a 680-700 next time)

AP Classes Taken/Will Take Next Year:
AP Human Geography
AP Calculus AB
AP World History
AP Physics B
AP Chemistry
AP Biology (next year)
AP Physics C -- Mechanics (next year)
AP Literature and Composition (next year)
AP United States Government and Politics (next year)
AP Calculus BC (next year)

Other:
---Won District National History Day in District 7 in Arkansas
---Competed in National History Day State Competition in Arkansas (was in top 5)
---Made the Arkansas All-State Bands (one of top 8 trombonists in the state my Sophomore year; projected to be in top 3 this year as a Junior)
---Beta Club
---National Honor Society
---Mu Alpha Theta
---Top 3 in class of 110 (in a competitive private school)
---I'll have to check and see for other things, but this is a good list for now

Also, I would really love to major in music performance, and Northwestern's music program is one of the top in the country. Based on my rankings in the State (I'll update this after this weekend because All-State tryouts are then) and my rounded academic career so far, how do I stand on getting into the university and the music school? Thanks a lot!

you seem like a really strong candidate. you might work on getting your test scores up (did you take any SATIIs?), but other than that you have a very good chance.

Apply ED if Northwestern University is truly your first choice. If you apply ED, your chances are fair. If you apply RD, your chances are less than fair. Admission to the School of Music, however, is probably based on an audition so your chances for the music school are based on your talent and audition performance. Geography will help you. Northwestern is a hot school experiencing a surge in applications to this academic powerhouse. An incredible amount of classes, about 75%, have fewer than 20 students. NU has one of the most magnificent settings in the US as it is sited on the shores of Lake Michigan and merges into the upscale shopping and dining district of the city of Evanston. If you are admitted to any college other than the College of Arts & Sciences, you are permitted to double major in the CAS (an amazing opportunity). Northwestern can be academically intense. #3 in terms of National Merit Scholars attending, behind Harvard and Texas, but well ahead of the other Ivies including Yale & Princeton. Several elite New England boarding schools are looking at NU as well. NU is now well into the top ten regarding endowment having recently passed the $7 Billion mark.

I will take 5 or 6 SAT II subject tests in May and June (Chemistry, Physics, World History, Math level 1 (maybe), Math level 2, Literature). Both my ACT and SAT scores should go up since I've really worked on my reading scores (I want at least a 32 on my ACT and a 2150 on my SAT [1420 math + verbal] so that I have higher chances). My reading scores were holding me back, but I've worked on reading and have taken multiple reading section tests in the past couple of months. What is the deadline for ED--if I get my stuff in by early- to mid-October, would that be before the ED deadline?

Well, it sounds like you know what you need to do. If you can hit your goals for the ACT and SAT, you will be a strong candidate.
Your transcript is certainly as good as it can be at your school. So if your scores improve to be remotely comparable, you will have a great shot.
Which AP tests are you taking this year? Have you taken any already?

Looking at other cc's and others at my school...the ec's your posted are pretty weak. Granted i don't really understand how prestigious the music ranking is. Though, your gpa is great and your act can only go up...

The EC's are off the top of my head, but I'm sure my counselor will know of any other things that I may have forgotten from a couple of years ago.

I have a question regarding the admission for Northwestern.
I was able to get into contact with the Northwestern cross country coach.
I am wondering how much of a "break" will Northwestern offer you if you are partcipating in intercollegiate division 1 cross country?

awards i have recieve in cross country
MVP for my school 3 years so far (hopefully next year as a senior as well!)
MVP for american schools in korea 1 year
all tornament - all 3 years
all conference - all 3 years
all tornament in the asia pacfic - 2 years

Also just to clarify I wouldn't say I'm below Northwestern standards, but I certainly not above them.
SAT: Reading: 630 Math: 800 Writing: 700
ACT: 32
GPA: 3.75
I am a full IB diploma candiate so I'm taking all university level courses in: Chemistry, English, Psychlogy, Theatre Arts, Math, and Spanish.

Other activities I am involved in are

Editor of the newspaper
Editor of yearbook
leader of the environmental club
habitat for humanity in the philipines
Amnesty International
NHS
Modeled United Nations in China

I'm not specifically asking what my "chances" are since college acceptances are somewhat arbitrary, but I am asking how much cross country would aide my into college.

Whoa, why would anyone take 5 or 6 SAT IIs? That seems so unnecessary. Just take the three you'll do best on, unless you think you can pull off well above 700 on all of them.

He has straight As and several AP courses and he only has a "less than fair" chance? Yeesh, I don't even want to start thinking about my chances then.
