Thanksgiving and Christmas food drive(leadership)
donated money to a department where mothers who dont want there babies and put thm in a safer place
Making a water fountain for the Rwanda kids (tested the water)
Gave them books and book bags with the fundraisers

I think you have a good chance, but I'm not an expert.
your stats are better than mine and I got gsp'd, so you'll probly get at least that. your EC's sound pretty good to me.

I had the same GPA, slightly lower SAT's (Math & Reading is all they look at) but a better rank. I was accepted CAS (ED) Do you have an weighted GPA? How many APs, IB's High Honor courses more or less?

What school (Stern is tougher than CAS, CAS tougher than Steinhardt)

Your STATS look good, your EC's OK, plus your African American (or just Africain) that you put you over the top. Again depending on your courseload

i would like to go to CAS and i had only 2 honors and will have 2 ap
i did take college courses because my school dosn't have the ap course i want and be good at.

freshman- H algebra
(freshman gpa 3.5)

sophomore- no honors
gpa:3.2 (ouch spanish!!!!)

If I were you I would try to sign up for some AP courses senior year. I'm sure you will find something you can be good at, even if it's not your fave subject. admissions likes to see that you're challenging yourself, rather than doing well in just regular classes.
CAS is selective, but I still think you've got a good shot. Work hard on your essay, try to be original and creative with nyu's short answers, and...good luck :)

but they have only
ap studio arts (no)
english literature(maybe)
cal bc(no)
us. history(yes)
world history(yes)
english language(maybe)
spanish(horribe)
i will have us history and world history ,hoping to get english literature (it is hard to get into that class)

this what i get for going to a small catholic school i was about go to high tech but it was to far from me (best public high school in new jersey)

Actually McNair is the best public high school in new jersey... anway, you've got a great chance. If you like NYU, I think (just to be safe) you should go ahead and apply ED to show that you REALLY want to go. Best of luck.

By the way, do you go to St. Dom's? I know a few girls there.

In reality, there's no way to tell if you will get accepted by looking at your grades and school activities. However, your grades are good enough to be consider for acceptance. Note that there are others with 4.0 GPAs, ranked top 10, and lots of leadership positions that are rejected before.

What made you think your essay is average? Different readers have different opinions.

no i go marist high school, st. dom's way to expensive for me but got accepted.
how hard is it to get into varisty sport in NYU like softball or soccer because i would love to join the teams when accepted.
