bump mcbump bump

Well, right now, your SAT score is a little on the low side - a 2200+ could change your chances dramatically. You could do with a couple more EC's, too, but yours are decent. But even so, I think you're pretty solid for most of the UC's, with the exception of Berkeley. Brown is definitely a reach, NYU and Duke are reaches too, but less so. I'm not very familiar with Tufts or BC, but I'm thinking match to low reach at both.

Even NYU is a reach? Im pretty sure that Tufts, BC, and UCLA are harder to get into than NYU. Correct me if I'm wrong.

bumper sticker

Yeah, you may be right there. NYU is probably more of a match/high match. My bad. :)

Colleges:
Brown-High Reach
Tufts-High Match
BC-High Match
NYU-High Match
Duke-Reach
USC-High Match
UCLA-Reach
UCB-Reach
UCSD-Match
UCI-Match
UCD-Match

What is your state of residency?

california

Agree with what Jman said, but Duke might be more of a stretch too, considering the number of HYPS applicants that love to apply to that school and take up spots lol.

out of the list of schools i put, NYU is the school which i like the most. Is it safe to say that my chances of going there are around 70-75% or is that too high?

Get the SAT up and it might be that high. Right now about 60%

just got my ap scores:
US History-5
Euro History- 5
Biology- 4
Chinese-5

Is that anything worth mentioning, or do they have no effect?

bumpppp bump

anyone wanna chance?

There are several key aspects of your application that you can work on :

Sat M + V. It's great that your writing score is above 700, but colleges put the least importance on that section. Thus, to be competitive at some of the more selective schools on your list, you'll need to raise M + V to at least 1400. Your EC's are relatively lackluster on paper, but a good essay (NOT necessarily specifically about what you do/ what position you hold in a club, but rather with a specific club in context of your essay. i.e. write about your passion for conservation, which will relate to your earth club).

2- GPA- You have a solid GPA, but really try to knock out first semester next year so that you can make up for your SAT's.

Brown- high reach
Tufts- match
BC-reach
NYU-depends on what school. If CAS- match. If Stern- low reach.
Duke- high reach
USC- high match
UCLA-match
UCB-high match
UCSD- depends, again, on what you're applying for. If BME, low reach. If not, match.
UCI- safety
UCD- safety

communications or pre-law are the majors/concentrations which I'm applying to, so yea CAS will be the college that I'm applying to in NYU

Lackluster in what sense? As in I don't have enough or they look scattered stuff?
thanks
