Thnx

Youre probably in although, according to the person who did my interview, there is no merit aid at Holy Cross.

You sound like you should definitely get in. There are limited full tuition merit scholarships in classics and music but the rest is financial aid.

thnx! also if you're familiar with Stonehill College do you think I would get in there as well? I thought that Stonehill and Holy Cross are around the same in terms of admissions, but I could be mistaken....

oh and i forgot to add: anyone have any other suggestions for schools in New England with my stats?
thanks!

you have a pretty good shot at Holy Cross.

ummm Stonehill would probably be a safety... Holy Cross is ranked a lot higher than Stonehill.

Agree. Stonehill is ranked 115 on US News & World Report rankings. Holy Cross is #35. Not even close.

Have you considered Bowdoin? They are also SAT optional and highly ranked. Only downside is they are in frigid Maine.

thanks! I will definitely look into Bowdoin

if you want to apply to bowdoin you're definitely going to want to send in some test scores… they say they don't need them, but they only accept one or two kids a year who don't have them

i believe bates and colby may also be test score optional... both still in maine but good schools although slightly higher acceptance rates than bowdoin...

redrose, this is a false statement. about 20% of students at bowdoin did not submit SAT scores. furthermore the acceptance rate among submitters is equivalent to that of non-submitters.

FYI bates is SAT optional but colby is not.

I think that you have a great chance at Holy Cross.
They place a lot of emphasis on the rigor of your high school courses, and with your strong GPA and record of AP's I think you should probably be fine.
Your ECs also seem to be quite a fit for HC.
You might want to also consider Connecticut College.

You seem to have a good chance. Strong EC's should help. Jimmymac2010, Bowdoin is a great school, but Maine is not that frigid. I live in Maine and I love the weather. You should consider that school as well.
