<p>GPA (uw): 3.96</p>

<p>Class Rank: 4/281 (top 2%)</p>

Chem (5 on test; received A all year)
BC Calc (taking now; currently have an A)
Bio (taking now; currently have an A)</p>

<p>I know I only took 3 but only 7 APs are available at my HS and with block scheduling, I had major scheduling issues.</p>

<p>I've taken highest level possible in all other courses.</p>

<p>Received Pfizer Math & Science Award Jr Year</p>

<p>Taking 2 online HS level physics courses thru BYU... started during summer & completed 1st course yesterday</p>

<p>Attended Girls State (government/leadership week convention thing, nominated by school guidance counsellor)</p>

<p>EC:
Chorus (carolers after school and "chamber choir" - 20 people, highest level in-school chorus out of 5; alto section leader and also "CCD" which is equivalent to a sports captain)
Flute (fr, so, jr year... sr yr didn't fit into schedule, but continue to take private lessons)
Dance (5 hrs/wk, nominated for scholarship last year; also dance in a special ensemble that performs for nursing homes, hospitals, etc)
NHS (tutor coordinator)
Student Council (treasurer)
Board of Christian Education (youth member)
Weekly sunday school teacher</p>

<p>can you explain why the 670 is so bad? idk we don’t really get a lot of info about them at my school, so i don’t really know what’s good and what’s bad…</p>

<p>Because it’s a really low powercentile relative to other testakers.</p>

<p>Let me rephrase it a bit. The people who take Math 2 tend to be somewhat good at math, so the test isn’t too hard for them. In addition, the curve is pretty generous so if you can answer, say 45/50 questions, you’ll probably score close to 800.</p>

<p>no one here has actually answered the OP’s question. does he/she have a good chance? I don’t think i’m experienced enough to help you answer that question so I’ll leave it to others who are :)</p>

<p>thanks to yanksdolphins for giving the math 2 explanation with a more neutral standpoint… the whole “easy 800” was a bit of a doozy. i am considering retaking it now. thanks :)</p>

<p>It’s hard for any of us to really “chance” the OP. I can give my opinions though: the SAT scores are not that great, definitely at the low end of the spectrum. However, the class rank is good. Your EC’s seem okay-nothing out of this world but certainly respectable.</p>
