[ *] Teacher Recs: Amazing
[ *] Counselor Rec: Amazing
[ *] Hook (if any): A lot of science (including much professional lab experience). I also had an amazing interview. The guy described to me what would happen after the interview, saying it will be moved to an admissions person who will choose to deny me, advocate me, or “table” me, which would mean getting more opinions. He said he wouldn’t even expect me to get tabled.

[ b]General Comments:[ /b] Also applying to Harvard, Dartmouth,Brown, Bowdoin, Bates, BC, and Middlebury. Opinions on any of those or Amherst would be much appreciated!

i think if your interviewer said that you prob. wouldn't get tabled, then that's your answer right there lol. in his opinion, you must have a really good chance at being admitted.

i'm interested to see what other people say though...since i have similar stats (although i certainly didn't do all the internship work that you have done or have your ECs).
in my opinion though (and not that i know anything) it looks like you have a great shot at any school.

If he said he wouldn't expect you to be tabled, did he say anything about advocating? :) Cause in case you missed it, there's a third option in there!! However, those are some heavy hitting schools you're applying to and I would guess you got good advice on that list. Hard to believe these kids are now only 28 or so days out from decisions. <gulp></gulp>

Haha, yeah, he said he expected me to go straight on to being advocated;)

"Interviews: Amherst does not offer interviews for prospective students."

???

.....Amherst does not offer interviews......

Hey, yeah sorry. I created that post on another one of my school's threads, and then I copied and pasted and changed the schools in the "General Comments" but forgot to take off the interview. Sorry haha. Everything else is right though.

It is hard to say. Your extracurriculars are strong but your SATs are around the 25th percentile at Amherst. I think it will ultimately come down to how well you stack up against other candidates from Maine or even NH and Vermont. Since there are no interviews, the college essay is a critical factor in their decisions. Good luck!
