hi, i have a 3.01 uw gpa but i will be a 3.07-3.1 uw when i apply, i also have a 27 on the act and good ec's, i am not sure if this helps but i am a legacy at syracuse (my mom went there) I will be applying to the college of human ecology, intended major: hospitality management,
please chance me!
thanks

yeah your legacy what school did you apply to?
but your gpa still sucks btw

mpm: nice post…not…

kpm: your GPA does not “…”…, if u are legacy, ED would really help, but you will still prob be a match for hum ec…jw, does your school have a DECA chapter? there is a hospitality category in the competition you may want totry for senior year…then u can use the experience 4 your interview…make sure you get one !!!

bummmmmmmpppppp

did you hear yet?

Your GPA is low however it does not suck like the above poster said you may want to try as hard as possible to get it up your senior year(try to get the cumulative up to at least a 3.4. Your ACT is pretty good i got in with way lower Act score. Your Legacy status definitely helps and if you get your GPA you should have a good chance to get it the uni

My D has same stats as you, same college, and a 4 generation legacy. We are waiting to hear…if she does, then you should!

Interview. My son had a similar average (a little higher) and a 1860 SAT which is about equivalent to a 27 ACT. No legacy here but my son was accepted to Arts and Sciences.

My son did interview. They told him he was borderline but because he showed improvement (his worse year was 10th grade and his average shot up in 11th), and has a difficult senior schedule (2 APs) he had a shot. He also had a good mid-year report, had over 90s in both his APs (both of which are related to his area of interest).

I think in most cases interviews could only help.

My s sounds alot like your s Handemom and he still hasn’t heard and we have had a lot of contact with the school, he is extremely anxious and pretty disappointed, we are waiting to hear from 'Cuse to make the final decision…I don’t have a good feeling about it :(

OneMoreTime, hang in there (as hard as it may be). It could just be the way they release notifications.

The one thing that may have helped my son is the fact that he’s in one of NYC’s most competetive (both to get in and to be in) public high schools which is always on those national lists of best public schools. A rep from Syracuse came to his school for 2 days to interview applicants, which indicates to me that these students are highly regarded by 'cuse.

Good luck to you!

Handemom: My son is in a New England boarding school, so far all the kids that applied were admitted, the development person at SU payed us a visit in the fall, it would be nice if they could at least give us a hint, because after this, we are pretty much done and we have to trips to visit schools next week and I would hate to go if he winds up getting in to Syracuse…

I think it’s just that they seem to do this in batches. A batch was released Friday. Maybe in a day or 2 another one will be. His myslice was updated Friday evening, a little after 5pm, indicating acceptance. He received an email a few hours later.

My son applied as a math major (arts & sciences).

I know that one of my son’s classmates heard last night, I just have this strange feeling that they are notifying accepted students first and ten the rejections, since so far it seems that everyone has been admitted. Oh well, he has many good choices and still a few more to hear from.still keeping our fingers and toes crossed.

Our guidance counselor is calling as I write this…he said last year kids kept getting acceptances through the end of March. We live near Syracuse and usually send about 5-8 kids there a year. I would keep your hopes up, I think they are working through the FA applicants. As soon as I hear anything, I’ll post. BTW, I got so excited because I got an email from Syracuse but it was just saying her transcript was ready (she took 2 SU project advance courses). I thought it was from admissions…
