What do you really want to do at Yale? Study law? If so then, I don’t think I see much extracurricular activities that show your passion for law. An internship at a law firm is, not bad, but I still think you need (or should have) pursued your passion for a long time. Doing one summer internship is not enough to get you into Yale. Also if you already haven’t taken the SAT, you might want to hurry and take it ASAP, in case you don’t obtain the score that is deemed “satisfactory” (at least 2200).

You need to build up your EC’s as much as possible.

Start now! You want to avoid last minute padding as much as possible. You’re grades are fine, just like everyone elses. What you need is stuff to distinguish you.

Pick up a sport, start a club, work some more, get involved! You want to be tipped/hooked as much as possible.

I’d say it’s worth applying, but definitely have some safeties. Tons of people have volunteer trips to mexico or south america to do volunteer work. Habitat is nothing special, I have that x4 through student gov. NHS is a joke to colleges, it minus well just be a requirement. Youth Leadership Award, sort of generic, and not so good without leadership positions such as president, VP, etc.

Now the internship- build off that. Maybe you can get a good rec that is meaningful from there. Remember, college is a business, you need to prove to Yale that it’s worth educating you.
