<p>Hi the schools that I'm looking at are (I'm a junior):</p>

<p>USC
Vanderbilt
Stanford
U of Notre Dame
U of Michigan
Loyola Marymount
MIT</p>

<p>My stats:
GPA-UW:94 W:~97(my school has a weird weighting system)
ACT-32 E:35 M:28 R:34 S:31 (will retake to get a better math score)
SAT:probably won't take it
Class Rank: School doesn't use it but definately top 25% probably top 10%
Classes: mostly honors and AP
AP classes:6 total- Art History, USH, Psychology, Latin, Calculus AB/BC (depends on summer school), and English Language and Composition</p>

<p>EC's: Soccer- I have played at very competitive levels since I was 10 years old, I play for both my high school team and outside of school on a club team
Band- I have played the trumpet for eight/nine years, I have a leadership role within the band, I was named first chair as a junior, I play in my school's jazz band and in another jazz ensemble, I am part of my school's marching band (I play the solos ;)), I have played trumpet for Church masses
I was an election judge for the 2008 presedential election
I was on the swim team my freshman year
I was a member of my school's student council freshman year
I am a member of my school's Classics club- it's for Latin/ Greek students
I peer tutor a student, maybe two, twice a week in Algebra
I had a job as a lifeguard when I was 15, I will probably work at the same pool this summer
I took a summer class in Honors World History and will take Precalculus this summer
I plan to get service hours by volunteering at a hospital this summer
I am part of an Honors society at school, I am applying for a leadership position after spring break </p>

<p>Awards: I was named a school scholar
I am hoping to get a band award at the end of the year
AP related award (depends how I do on the tests)</p>

<p>What do you think? Where can I improve? I appreciate your opinion! :)</p>

<p>I forgot- I was part of my grade school’s quiz bowl team and I joined my high school’s scholastic bowl team as a junior</p>

<p>You are a very good applicant to USC. I would say that you can get into USC, but Standford and MIT are obviously reaches. I think Notre Dame might be a high match, and U of Michigan might be a match as well! </p>

<p>Math is a bit low, so I hope that goes up. Your ECs could be a little stronger, some of the small ones may not help much. However, the ones that you are very involved in will prove useful as I’m sure you’ll see. Write good essays and I think you are looking good.</p>

<p>k. keep in mind that I’m a junior and am not an expert on college admissions
all this one year stuff is going to be very little advantage to you in the college application process based on my knowledge.</p>

<p>Stanford/MIT–reaches
Michigan–you are in their numbers range and I think band/soccer should get you in
USC–all depends on in state. low reach if you are out of state. in if you are in state.
I think you’re in at the rest. I have VERY little knowledge about the remaining three, though.</p>
