I'm thinking of applying to Wellesley next year and i just want an indication of whether it's likely or unlikely that i'll get in. Thank you to those who replies.

I think you have a good chance. Nothing jumps out at me as super awesome amazing, but everything seems very good–academics, test scores, and extras. I definitely do not think getting two B+'s matters at all. I got–horror of horrors!–NINE B’s of various types in high school. I was an Early Evaluation “likely” (Full disclosure: I was also ranked 15/800 and got 6 of the 9 B’s my freshmen year, so I had an upward trend).

oh by the way, i might do early decision, if that changes anything.

Thank you, that’s very assuring :)

Does anyone else want to chance me? Please?

Academically, you’re fine. I got a C and a few Bs in HS so you don’t have too much to worry about. ECs look okay with clubs being a bit weaker than other potential ECs, but it looks like you’ve got some things to write about. You definitely seem well-rounded with pre-med aspirations and drama.

As advantagious mentioned, it looks strong, but not enough of a profile to see anything jumping out at you. Do you have any non-GPA related awards? Assuming you don’t underestimate the importance of essays and recommendations, I’d say you’re half way there, so make sure those stand out.

Dear Simowierdo,

Considering you had straight As your Junior year, and you are ranked 20/500 in your class, you should not place an undue amount of concern over a B+ in Geometry Freshman year and a B+ in Spanish III Sophomore year. Overall, your academic standing so far is

good. IF you score a 32, the same as you have been getting on the ACT practice tests, you should be in a pretty good position. I think your ECs are fine, but not stellar. Make sure to invest quality time on your application and distinguish yourself with your essay.

I think you have a chance of getting in if you continue in the same direction. To answer your question, I think applying ED would help you, but this is just my opinion.

Thank you for the chances!!

FemmeFatale: no, unfortunately i don’t have any significant awards. I do get an award every year from the Acting Academy (drama), but i don’t know how important it would be. I also play the flute, piano, and guitar. But i don’t enter any competitions :(

sunshine2: Thank you. I will definitely apply early decision! Hopefully my ECs won’t drag me down too much…

and i will work hard on my essay to distinguish myself :)
