100+ hours of volunteering at my local hospital (9-11th grade)
I spent my summer between 10th and 11th grade at UPenn for 6 weeks taking a writing class for college credit.
This summer I am interning at Scholastic Press (children's publishing company) for one of the senior editors.
I work every Sunday at a local clothing store.

Thanks!!

well they’re not going to look @ yr religion although there supposedly is a large jewish and asian community at penn…

anything like legacy/summer courses means that u should apply ed.

i would definitely take another satII first though to make up 4 that 670

Your chances are very good, but beyond that, we can say little.

excellent chance. If you want to raise it any more, you should consider substituting the Sunday work for volunteering. The more hours the better.

I would agree but since SATIIs are supposed to show your strengths, you really should consider thinking of a strength to substitute bio. SATIIs should always be 700+++ and you should have more than the number requested.

If you’re applying ED, I suggest taking the October SATIIs. good luck!

Susie, I’m a JWS with a 660 SAT II lit. Scores aren’t everything. Frosty has shown sufficient test taking ability to not have to worry about scores.

“excellent chance. If you want to raise it any more, you should consider substituting the Sunday work for volunteering. The more hours the better.”

^^^ I don’t think that is necessary at all–she should do what she wants to do for ECs/free time.

I think you have a really great shot. The fact that you did a summer program at Penn is a huge help… plus your SAT is really great and you have a really solid GPA. Your ECs are good… no need to try to change things now to look better. Continuity is a good thing, so why someone would suggest you give up your job for more volunteering I don’t know. Plus, you probably want spending money in college.

Relatively good chance! A lot depends on your essays and recs, since Penn judges in bands.

if you get an award for community service, you REALLY stand out in the application process. That has held true for everybody I know.

Take SAT II again and apply ED. You have a really excellent chance but apply ED to ensure it!
