Chance me, please!

I'm applying Early Decision to Vassar! I'm a female and I live in Poughkeepsie, but I'm not sure whether my close proximity to the school will affect my chances. I don't want to post too much, but here is some basic information. I'm really nervous, so any advice/opinions about my possibility of being accepted would be extremely helpful!

ACT: 31, writing subscore:10
I also took the SAT and two Subject tests, but the scores are substantially lower so I'm assuming Vassar will use my ACT score because it is higher.

Rank: 4th of 500
GPA: around a 95 or so, but I'm not sure what that is on the 4.0 scale

I've taken/am taking AP classes in the following subjects: Calc BC, English Lit, English Language, Spanish Language, US History, World History. I have also taken honors classes in Pre-Calc, Spanish, English, Math, Chemistry, and Biology.

I have excellent recommendation letters.

EC's - I founded two clubs in my school, one about leadership and community service and another involving the integration of Latino students who have recently moved to the US into not only the community but also the school.
12-year Girl Scout, Rotary Interact, JV Lacrosse in 10th grade, Amnesty International, Tutor, National Honor Society vice president.
I have also participated in two leadership/volunteering conferences, one during the summer of 2008 for a week and the other for two days during 11th grade.

Awards: AP Scholar, Girl Scout Bronze and Silver Award, 10-year Girl Scout Award, JV Lacrosse award, English Academic Award (twice), Student of the Month, Science Fair 1st place in 2007 and 2008.

If anyone can chance me, I would really appreciate it!!! I'm so nervous, and any input would be great.

If you were male, you could be pretty confident of admission. Since you are not, it’s hard to say despite your fine profile.

thanks. i hope i still stand a chance!

Your stats are much better than the Vassar admittee from our local HS-but she was a double legacy.
I’d pretend I didn’t take the SAT if your scores aren’t good and they aren’t required. Your stats look great to me.
ED will help you, too.

Unfortunately I already sent in both my SAT and ACT scores. :frowning: Also, they’re on my high school transcript anyway, so I didn’t want to make it seem like I was trying to hide the scores. It’s not like they were awful, they were in the high 1800s, but the ACT scores definitely stand out more.
Thanks so much though :)

It should be ok, they are supposed to look at your best…I think you should get in, high 1800s aren’t bad.At least you’ll look like you can do the work.

I like your stats, and hopefully they’re agood enough to get in, because mine are pretty much the same.

It doesn’t matter that you sent in your SAT scores, because they only take the highest standardized test into consideration.

I hope they’re good enough to get in also, for both of us!!
are you applying ED I too?
