Hello. I have been recently looking into Syracuse University and was wondering if I had a chance of admission. Here are my stats:

1100/1640 SAT
26 ACT (writing score not yet available) E-26 M-23 R-29 S-25
3.58 GPA
Classes: Two APs, One College level, 4 Honors
The math is weird in NY, but I'm in Honors Pre-cal now.
I'm and African-American female; my parents didn't finish college Not sure if any of that matters.
I'll probably apply for the College of Arts and Sciences.
I'm Co-Editor and Chief of my school's newspaper.
I run varsity spring-track.

I didn’t really plan on taking the SAT again. I just don’t think I can do any better. That’s why I took the ACT.
What if I apply to Human Ecology?
And did you edit your post? It was different before.

Yes I edited it because I saw that you indicated your desired college. Sports management in Human ecology will be really difficult to get into but every other program is moderately difficult.

I wouldn’t listen to JJac610 if I were you. He’s a freshman and just entered the school and doesn’t really know how to assess admission to certain programs… For A&S, you are probably going to get in. Depending on which program in Human ecology you apply to it may be difficult. Remember, for admission to top tier school may be tricky. People who you’d expect to get in doesn’t end up getting in and those who you do not expect to get in ends up getting in.

Princess - if you want to boost your GPA, send the school your 1st quarter grades (obviously if they are something you are proud of and think it would help). I know for a fact that Syracuse at this point in the app process (not ED, but RD) does request 1st Senior Marking Period grades. Good luck!

I think your GPA is good enough for A&S. Your SAT/ACT is a bit low. I still think you have a chance. Try to interview, I think that really helps.

My son had a higher SAT but lower GPA. He interviewed and was told he was borderline, but because he had shown improvement (GPA-wise) in the last couple of years at high school, that improved his chances. He was accepted.

Okay. A&S is where I’d most likely apply, since I want to major in Biology. My first quarter grades should be good. I haven’t recieved them yet. I’m really only worried about math and physics.

I will of course interview with them if that does boost your chance, I know it does with another school I’m looking at.
