chance me please

I am currently a sophomore finance major in the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder . I'm applying to Vanderbilt for the Fall 2010 semester. I was wondering if it is possible for you to evaluate my chances at acceptance as well as what I might need to do to improve my chances. Vanderbilt is my 1# choice and I believe that would contribute a unique perspective to the student body. I would appreciate any information you could provide to help improve my chances for acceptance.

Your HS Stats are pretty solid, but being a second year transfer they won’t carry much weight. Usually very selective schools look for transfer applicants to have 3.5+ (at least from what I’ve gotten from emailing with different schools). 3.3 is definitely in the ball park of that unofficial cut-off. Your EC’s are solid. Work hard on your essays and get some great professor recommendations and you’ll have a good shot.

According to Collegeboard.com, Vanderbilt admits 55% of transfer applicants (298/533).

thats good to hear. i was hoping that the schools i’m applying to would realize that i play a D1 sport year round and have a part time job within the Student Union at CU. While this is no excuse for a lower GPA, it seems to me that it might help place me in the same boat as someone with a 3.5+. thanks for the response. Anyone else have any opinions on my situation?
