I'm a senior that is very stressed out about college apps...my dream school has always been UC Berkeley. Please chance me:

-local, CA public school
-male
-major: Middle Eastern Studies- College of Letters and Sciences
-SAT's 1810
-Subjects: 650-US History, 550-Biology E(haven't been in biology class since Freshmen year...that explains the bad score), 510-Literature (good thing i can submit 2)
-GPA: HS weighted: 3.75, HS nonweighted: 3.58, A-G 3.65
-Essays are really strong: one covers my trips to Iran, and living there- the other talks about a Congressional internship program I was a part of.
- Extra Curriculars: President of a Club, VP of another, member of several other clubs, make short films
- Awards: NHS, Finalist for State-Board of Education student member, various school awknowledgments...
-Volunteer: about 500 hours
- hardships: lost a home to foreclosure, and learned English as a second language.
- First Generation American/First Generation College student

Please chance me for UCB, and some of the other UC's that you know of...

Your SAT score may be problematic, I don’t know if Berkeley even considers anything under a 2000. The scores are good, but I doubt they are Berkeley material. SAT II scores are a bit low as well, but if English is not your first language I’m sure they may take that into account.
Your activities/essays/volunteer activities all look great, but I guess it’s a question of whether or not they are enough to overcome your SAT scores and your GPA.
As a sidenote, Petersons says that the average unweighted GPA for incoming freshman is a 3.9.

Once again, your SAT is really weak, definitely in the bottom 5% of accepted students. Your GPA is pretty good, but not nearly where it should be; have you bogged it down with AP’s and Honors? Your EC’s/essays seem great, but once again, idk if it’ll be enough

Besides UCB and UCLA, I think Davis and the others are well within reach

Thanks a lot for the information, I have in fact taken many AP, honors courses. I will study really hard for the December SAT, so hopefully my SAT score is better than what I posted!
