SAT: 2250 [730 CR,800M ,720W] as superscore, 2140 in one sitting
SAT II: 790 Math II 760 Chem
GPA: 4.4 (Weighted) [3 C+'s in Honors/AP classes in my career =[ and a few B's- How much does this hurt?)
Extracurric: Varsity Sport, President of four clubs - one is an honor society (founder of two), 500 volunteer hours

School courses: AP Bio, AP Chem, AP Physics, AP Calc, AP English, AP US History, AP Statistics

What’s your UNweighted GPA? Your SAT is high, but C’s and B’s are never a good combination, especially if you’re applying this late in the game. Also, are you in-state or out?

You should be ok, with your ECs and scores (UM doesn’t superscore though). Write good essays and I think you shouldn’t have trouble getting in. But then again, I’m in state, so the competition is a lot less intense.

I’d call it a reach. I’d imagine your GPA to be around a 3.6-3.7 unweighted, and as an OoS applicant applying late RD with average ECs and a low GPA, that high SAT score probably won’t do it. I know in-state kids with higher stats who have gotten rejected applying this late in the game. Sorry man, I don’t mean to sound harsh! :(

But you should still apply, of course! I hope I’m wrong, after all.

Sorry, I’d also have to say it’s a reach, although it’s hard to know without knowing how your GPA was calculated. If you had applied 2 or 3 months ago and/or were in-state you would have a better chance.

stx: Well you definately would have had a better chance if you applied before Nov. 15, but if your 7th semester grades are really tops in all those APs you are taking now, you might have a good chance. Depending which state you are from and if your essays are amazing then GO FOR IT!! Just make sure you mention how much you love Michigan and that it would be the opportunity of a lifetime to attend. They need to know that applying this late is now not just a safety after thought.

Being out of state and having missed EA deadline hurts you by quiet a lot.
Having low B’s and even C+'s is going to hurt…especially since you go them in AP courses…
Your E.C’s maybe a wild card…depending on which clubs you are president of and which clubs you founded. Do you have any awards? Those usually help your stats if they are hard to get awards or national ones.

Ultimately, your grades will hurt you and your SAT score isn’t anything amazing for being an OOS applicant…plus you are applying so late…so you are probably going to be from a slight reach to a reach…(depending on your competition).
