Chance Me Please

Hi, I am am planning on applying to a ton of colleges that are in my league, somewhat in my league, and out of my league. They are:

Cornell University
Boston University
Pennsylvania State University
University of Massachusetts, Amherst
The University of Arizona
Colorado State University
James Madison University
Washington State University
SUNY (State University of New York) Oswego
SUNY Buffalo (University at Buffalo)
SUNY Fredonia
SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry
SUNY Canton
Ohio University

Also, I am a caucasion male and I am in my senior year of high school. I live in New York. I have maybe a 2.9 or 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Despite my horrible GPA, I got a combined SAT score of 1760 and a 26 on the ACT without writing and a 25 on the ACT with writing. I did horrible on my SAT II's, but I still tried. I am thinking of majoring in veterinary medicine. I know my grades do not show it, but high school has been tough for me. Please be honest. I can take it. And you might ask why I am applying to an Ivy League with my horrible grades. Well my answer is that I visited Cornell as I was looking at the SUNY schools and I just fell in love with the school. Thank you for your help.

Cornell University-rejected; But, if you diligently study for SATs and focus hard on your essays, you could get in
every other college-accepted

thank you, bluewind.

I’d say to forget about Cornell and Boston University, Buffalo, James Madison, UMass, and Penn State are reaches…to offset the low GPA, I think you need to improve your SAT scores by at least 100 points. Good luck.

P.S. I use Naviance, too!

I got accepted to SUNY Canton!

Congratulations! Definitely look out for your other colleges, too. SUNY Canton should be your safety.

The first 4 are huge reaches,The others are fine. You will get in most of them.

Thank you. I might not apply to any other colleges because of SUNY Canton’s connection with Cornell University.

bump, thank you.

Please chance me on each college individually, please?

Well, your GPA is low for Cornell, but not necessarily low for the others. Your SATs are not the worst in the world. Is there any more information that you can provide? Surely you have some ECs, Letters of Recommendation and Essays.

PM Me if you provide more information- I will change my chance.

Based on what you have provided and what I know, I think

Cornell- Reach
SUNY Buffalo- Low Match, maybe a safety.
Pennsylvania State University- low match, maybe a safety.
University of Massachusetts, Amherst- low match, maybe a safety
SUNY (State University of New York) Oswego- safety
SUNY Fredonia- maybe a low match
SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry- low match
SUNY Canton-safety

Please chance me some more. Thank you.

I don’t know anything about the SUNYs, but I do know a lot about Cornell and Penn State.

Cornell-Very high reach, though they will of course take into account circumstance.
Penn State-Main is a high match as an OOS student, but the branch campuses should be safeties. Good luck!

Thank you. But can someone please chance me for Washington State University? That would be great.
