<p>Hi I am current senior and I applied to UT Austin and its honors program. I live in California and go to a school that is competitive and has over 3600 people. I am chinese so I dont know if affirmative action might be a factor. Our school is so big that it doesnt rank but we do supply the most students per year to the UC Berkeley UCLA UCSD..etc system and the USC system</p>

<p>I am applying to the Cockrell Petroleum Engineering college under the major of Petroleum Engineering and geological studies</p>

<p>My stats are:</p>

<p>GPA: 3.4 UW
SAT: 2310
SAT II:
Math IIC ---> 760
Chem ---> 680
Lit ---> 660
Bio---> 800</p>

<p>APs:
5 in AP English Language
4 in AP Calculus
5 in AP Biology
3 in AP Chemistry </p>

<p>ECs: Tennis Team (9, 11, 12) Captain senior Year
Badminton Team, Math Team, National Honors Society, School Newspaper Staff, Prom Committee, Freshmen Orientation Staff, French Club, French Honors Society, Hospital Staff/Volunteer (City of Hope Oncology Department), Coaches kids tennis and I teach middle school kids at a local middle school.</p>

1) AP English Language
2) AP Statistics
3) AP French
4) AP Government
5) Tennis
6) Journalism Newspaper Staff</p>

<p>No problem. I had lower stats than that, but I’m getting in on the 10% thing. Texas high schools are pretty behind other states. Most of us aren’t in APs until junior or senior year. Scores like that are pretty good for some of the Ivies, have you considered them as well?</p>

<p>You have an awesome chance. Your stats are way, way, way above the average, courseload is strong, I think you’re getting in!</p>

<p>I think you have a really high chance of getting in for a couple of reasons:
a) geographically diverse - from Cali versus Texas
b) good SAT, AP scores
c) nice extracurriculars</p>

<p>As long as you don’t fudge up your essays you should be fine.</p>
