I felt like middlebury was a school that has time and the effort to look beyond SAT scores, hopefully I am not mistaken...

basically, moving screwed everything up...

oh and i had an interview there.

SAT I Mid Range (50%): 1930-2210

Sure some colleges will look a little beyond SAT scores but just know that Middlebury probably has many students who have high SAT scores and a lot of EC’s. I don’t know how much pull ethnic groups have in Middlebury admissions though.

How was your interview?

All I can say is that if your phrased your background as something that screwed you up vs a challenge you made the best of, I am not sure SAT scores would be the problem. I think to excel at a school like Middlebury (and thus be on their wanted lists), you have to like the challenges life puts in your path. While switching out of IB may have been disappointing for you, in just seven words you make an AP based school sound like the klink (you HAD TO?). Now, you could very well feel that way inside, but if you phrased your essays or whathaveyou as “poor you” having been under-serviced in some educational way, my first reaction would be you ability to adapt easily or enjoy a challenge is not very high up there.

You are correct that it’s not all about scores and or grades; attitudes count for a lot as well I think.
