Oh yea this is my cousins profile. I didn't want to make a new one for one post.

Are you a junior?? Your SAT I scores are on the low end for Harvard.

boston_man, tbh I don’t think you’re looking very good. The 700 math prettty much mitigates PROMYS, and your other scores aren’t exactly shining either. If you essays happen to click with the admissions officer you’ll get in, but otherwise I’d have to say no. Sorry bro.

I am kind of curious as to how you managed to get into PROMYS and yet only a 700 in SAT I Math and 780 in Math II. I know it’s not the same sort of math, but I imagine it’s equivalent to me going back and taking a 10th grade math test. Are you really prone to careless errors?

I think if you Math scores were higher you’d have a much better chance, but at the end of the day there are so many applicants so who knows how much a higher math score would improve your chances. But I think the fact that PROMYS is on your app is a very good thing. Makes you stand out. As of now, I’d say your chances are unlikely. However, that isn’t saying much, because everyone’s chances are unlikely too…

@bostonman2009 - I think that it’ll be harder for you to get in because of your scores. …I understand PROMYS though because you got a 780 on the SAT II. 700 SAT I must have been an accident. I think that your extracurriculars are fairly unique. So I’d say Harvard is still a crapshoot. You probably have around the sameish chance as everyone else.

to be on topic…

Your weighted GPA is low compared to your unweighted. As long as you have taken a rigorous course-load throughout high school, that should be ok though. I think that if you have strong essays, you definitely have a shot.

Well, if you bring up your SAT scores (which by the way don’t need a 2400) you will be fine. Oh! What extra-curriculars did you do and what clubs did you join? Statistics aren’t enough to get in because almost everyone has them.

@christiansoldier - You make me lol a lot. I felt like this is something that you need to know. You can add it to your list of ECs :)
