So I'm a Political Science major, and I'm looking at both FSU and UF. I applied to UF back in October. I'm not a first generation college student, but I am african american and my older brother went to UF, and is on the list of "famous" UF alumni. Here are some of my stats:

3.6 UF gpa
1270 SAT (1900 overall)
26 ACT
7 AP classes, very rigorous high school record
Very good essay
Lots of EC's, not a tremendous amount though. A few leadership roles, such as Vice President of FCA at my school.

I’d say you have a good chance. Your GPA is the only thing that might hurt you, but your other stats are higher than my God brother’s (he just graduated from UF in December).

You have a so so chance.
Say last year where URM’s with similar or higher stats that got rejected.
Your hook is your brother. Hopefully you incorportated him somewhere in your essays.
That may give you a fighting chance.
