<p>Hello forum im starting to get nervous as the year comes to an end bc i will soon be a senior& applying to college! so i was wondering if you gals could chance me for barnard! </p>
<p>I’m a 1st generation Hispanic (1st to go to college)</p>
<p>GPA: 99.49 (probably gonna land in top 1% in ranking next year)
SAt II: World History : 750 (gonna take Bio & Math2 in May)
AP: World history- 5, currently taking Eng Lang, Bio & US History
Ecs: Key CLub, American Red Cross (Treasurer), Unicef & Arista (going to run for VP!), Slam Poetry Club
Church Service (& attend church classes), S^3 program at Barnard (ended)
Summer Activities: freshmen yr attented Science Summer Program @ Queens College, sophmore yr i did 56hrs volunteer at a senior center
this summer i’m doing a prgram @ Brown & volunteer at my local hospital </p>
<p>its not much but any advice to bring up my chances? all advice, big or small will be appreciated!

<p>Ok, the frowny face got to me. But I really hate these “chances” threads, particularly now that we are seeing that admissions decisions are coming out and it’s obvious that nobody here can make these kind of predictions. </p>
<p>All I, or anyone else here, can do is to advise you to continue doing excellent work and to be thinking of what sort of “focus” you want your application to take. Do you have in mind what you want to do with your life? Or is your “focus” that you need an environment like Barnard to explore your potential in differing areas, for example. Congrats to you, though, on being a first gen college student! As I am sure you know, that probably will be helpful during your applications cycle.</p>
<p>It seems to me that you are in the enviable position of being able to know that you have done your best. And can apply to a variety of schools (including Barnard) knowing that you will end up with excellent choices a year from now.</p>
