What are my chances? thanks

a little weak on the EC’s and your GPA is a little low…gotta step it up

Weighted or Unweighted GPA?

hey…all i can say is you’ll probably end up in a college that you never dreamed of going to. well maybe not “dream” of but a college that’s not one of ur top choices. I thought i was going to NYU or USC and it turned out that I didn’t get into either, nor did I get into claremont or northwestern, which were my next choices. i ended up getting into berkeley and I NEVER thought I would go there lol but i’m so glad that i did get in cuz i love the campus and everything about it more than NYU or USC.

but to chance u, u have a good shot…but it’s pretty random, so dont bank on getting in. i was almost SURE i’d get into NYU early decision and didnt. berkeleys better though so good thing i got rejected ED!

you’re gonna be fine, you have a great chance, but are you sure your UC GPA is a 4.56? I thought it caps out before that.

Positive, at least in Maryland (my state).

Looks good except the unweighted GPA could go higher.
If you don’t get in as a freshman, I suggest going to community college and transferring in.

@anonymousername are you kidding me? Debate, Model UN, Student Government, Health Curriculum Board, Newspaper qualifies as a little weak? What the hell were you’re EC’s?
Also, that GPA is not really that Low. Unweighted is a little below average but UC GPA and Weighted GPA are both above average.

@OP you will be fine, I would guarantee you a spot if you were in-state. Just do something really interesting over the summer that you can write about and maybe work at a non-profit to up your chances a little bit. I would say don’t worry about it to much. I got in with a slightly lower GPA than you, similar test scores, but, maybe higher EC’s.

I think you have a great shot. I’m OOS and attending starting this fall… And our stats are pretty similar! People here are saying your UW GPA might be a bit low but to be honest I had around the same GPA, and here I am. Having that many AP classes definitely helps. Can’t say I know much about the ACT, but its corresponding SAT score is surely competitive for UCB!

Write a good essay, and really focus in on one or two of those EC’s. So far you look like a great applicant!

Oh my god, my surprise level keeps increasing. YET another chance thread???
You go to Thomas Wooton in MD?
I suggest you do not mention your school in College Confidential- this can be used against you.
