<p>I will be a senior this coming fall and have my sights set on Brown- I love everything about it!. Unfortantely, my ECs aren't stellar and nowadays everyone seems to be saying that they will make you or break you.. Do I still have a (reasonable) chance of getting in? Also would retaking my ACT to up my writing score help? </p>

<p>Rank: Top 5% (Class of 500+)</p>
<p>GPA: 4.0 unweighted (we don't do weighted)</p>
<p>ACT: 32, but a lowly 7 on writing</p>
<p>Classes: I will graduate with 6 or 7 APs: Euro history, American history, biology, physics, english, calc, gov<br>
*my school doesn't offer AP music (band/jazz) or AP Spanish and I've taken 4 years of all three. I've also taken a sculpting class and an after-school music comp class
AP exams: Euro History-3, US History-4, Biology-4</p>
<p>My ECs: 2 years JV soccer, 1 year XC, 2 years Spanish Club, 3 years Key Club, 2 years Science Olympiad, Healthcare Program at a local hospital, after-school tutoring, Jazz ensemble (non-school group; playing in Montreux Jazz Festival next summer:)), & ..</p>
<p>Honors: National Honor Society, Church Volunteer Award, 3rd Place (State) National Spanish Exam, State & Regional Stars in Solo Band Competition, Various Jazz Soloist/Performance Awards, Band All-State (next year), Church Volunteeer Award</p>
<p>Volunteering: church & daycare, STLF Tours 3 years-- there aren't many, but I put in a lot of hours at my church..</p>
<p>All in all, with an awesome essay and good recs, is there a (reasonable) chance of admittance?
