Chance me please

Hi, i’m from OOS and i am going to apply to OSU in the fall. im an italian immigrant and i have pretty good recommendations/resume

ACT:26
GPA: 3.93
AP CLASSES: will take AP spanish and AP economics this upcoming year.
I’ve also taken bunch of honors classes throughout my high school years.

Also,
can anyone tell me what their average financial aid packages are? are they generous? do they not give out much?

Thank you in advance for the replies

Probably in. ACT is a little low (middle 50% was 26-31 last year) but difficult course load and great gpa should counter that. What’s your class rank?

I’m top 10%

You’re fine.

I got in with similar grades/ec’s but my ACT was a 30 (which is substantially higher than a 26.)

I also received a scholarship…oh gosh, I forget what it’s called; the Buckeye something or other. It was only available to OOS students and essentially offset the difference between in state and out of state tuition. It was about $8,500/year if I recall correctly.

I’d say with your stats you could get in (eh…) but a scholarship is questionable.

thanks for ur replies, yes my problem is that my ACT is kinda low, but i mean it’s mostly because i’m an immigrant and i have a hard time reading and writing and with the science, i think i can try to explpain that with my essay…i just really would want a scholarship to offset the instate out of state difference and i need higher ACT’s to get it -.-

Just so you know, OSU’s application gives you a choice of three essay topics and they are pretty specific, so you might not be able to talk a lot about yourself, if at all.

The following essay prompt is taken from the 2011 TOSU application. What are the other two essay topics?

"Limit your response to 300 words. Reflect on your answer and be attentive to spelling and grammar. There is no “right” answer to this question.

Why are you interested in The Ohio State University?"

I certainly think you’re in. Your personal circumstances will mitigate the ACT score. Although, it probably will keep you from getting a pre-enrollment invitation to Honors & Scholars, you still will be able to earn your way in freshman year.

oooohhhhhh, well if the question is why i’m intrested in ohio state i think i have a good idea of how to incorporate myself into that question. But thanks for the heads up. Anyway, yeah its going to keep me from getting honors, but i’d reallly love to get some type of money from them, even to offset the instate out of state difference. i’m definately going to apply to the special scholarship and the morril one.
