I am applying ED and majoring in biology, with may be some history. CAS would probably be a better fit than CALS. But the stats of past years say that it’s more difficult to get into CAS than CALS. Since I am a New York State resident and my low GPA and SAT, it would be easier to get into CALS than CAS just for biology but I really like CAS because I can take history or a variety of other courses bedsides biology.

I really appreciate your advice.

I don’t see how a 96/100 GPA and a 2200 SAT is low… If you like CAS, let it show in your interest essays, and don’t try and use CALS as a backdoor…

Still a reach but a realistic chance, especially applying ED. You’ll make your parents proud wherever you end up…

not a reach, i mean i agree…apply CAS, i know ppl with lower stats that got into CAS…and by lower stats i mean 2000 SATs and a 93 percent gpa…its all about interest…not about whats easier, because they can figure out, they are trained to do that, 2200 is good…a lot of cornell applicants dont have 2200’s…and 96 percent gpa is what?- a 3.85? 3.9? thats great
