Chance me please?

<p>I’m absolutely absolutely set on Amherst, but a little unsure if I can get in. Can someone please chance me for Early Decision?</p>

Chinese (not born in America), female, California
Weighted GPA: 4.5 (rank within school is not given)
Unweighted: 3.8
SAT: 2230
ACT: 33
SAT IIs: Math 2 & Chemistry, both 710
Classes that I’ve taken (AP and Honors wise): <I’ve gotten all As, except for my science classes where I average a high B. But the major I’m declaring is economics or business.

<p>I’ve had a bunch of people look over my essays and they all have said that they’re good. My letters of rec are good too. My high school is fairly competitive, but all the really good people are applying to Stanford and the other Ivys so from my school, I’m one out of like three (max) people applying to Amherst.</p>

<p>I’m not so good at the chancing bit; it’s so hard for anyone to say but the Admissions Committee. However, your stats look well-within Amherst’s range.</p>

<p>You should know as you’re working on your application that Amherst does not offer a business major. Economics is a very popular and well-regarded department, but it might detract from your application if you list an intended major as something they don’t offer. </p>
