Colleges interested: Boston College, Georgetown, Washington U in St. Louis, Carnegie Mellon, NYU (I am a legacy) and University of Virginia.
Hello
I am a junior and am wondering what my chances at these colleges are.
My grades are o.k. at about a 3.8 weighted, and I should be valedictorian by the time I am a senior. I have taken 2 AP classes last year and am taking 2 this year. I am also dual enrolling in two classes as well. I have also taken two years of IB
Tests
I got a 32 composite on the ACT; I have not taken the SAT yet
Extracurricular
I ball boy for tennis at a local wheelchair tournament and at a local pro tournament. I volunteer at my local animal shelter. I tutor kids at my temple. I am also going to do summer school at Columbia this summer. I have also interned at Prudential Realty and Lenson Realty (a local realtor). I am also head chair for the blood donation event.
Hook
I go to a 99% minority school in a small neighborhood, yet I am not a minority. My parents have encountered some legal and financial trouble and are also in the process of getting a divorce. I will not though have to apply for financial aid if that helps.
Interests
I love sports, the stock market, and real estate. I read the Wall Street Journal and watch CNBC and Fox Business whenever I have a chance. I also read all of the real estate magazines in my area and I also know most of the listings in my area. I also always read Sports Illustrated. I also like to read many books.
I want to major in business or economics

Oh, UF and U Mich as well

Firstly, being Valedictorian, you can aim even higher. A lesser IVY like Brown or Darthmouth might be a real possibility for you if you can get a 34+ ACT or 2200+ SAT.
Secondly, if you mention that your parents are getting a divorce and how it has had a detrimental effect on you and how you coped with that and still mantained your Rank; it will greatly benefit you. This may seem cheap but you gotta do what you gotta do.

And Lastly, improve your ECs. Aim for a MUN or some other leadership opportunity. Head chair of the Blood Donation thing wont do it.

Thanks for the info, but my school isn’t very hard so I didn’t know if I was on Ivy level. And yeah next year I will be running for an office.
