I'm an American high school senior applying to the School of Arts.

GPA:
3.71 Unweighted
4.3 Weighted (this is the only one that shows up on my transcript, I'm pretty sure)

ACT: 30 (35 English, 24 Math, 34 Reading, 27 Science)

Courseload: Very rigorous. Almost all Honors/AP. 11 APs (2 sophomore, 5 junior, 4 this year)
-All As/A-s except a B-trend in math courses (and 1 C+ in algebra...bad, I know)

**Mostly 4s on AP tests. Did not take some of my junior year AP tests due to personal circumstances

High School: Very competitive and rigorous public school. Will be sending in a profile of it with my transcript

Any chances are appreciated!

Also, does anyone have an idea of when I should be hearing back? Sent in my app + ACT scores today and will be sending transcript this Monday

I think it’ll depend upon which faculty you’re applying to.

^^ Oops. When I said School of Arts, I meant Faculty of Arts.

English is definitely my strong suit, as evident by my ACT scores. I also have had all As in my English classes. My English classes 10-11-12 were AP English Language, English III Honors, and AP English Literature.

My grades for science and history classes are also solid. Really the only thing lacking is math.

From their website, they do not say anything about requirement grades for mathematics, only for English (ACT score of 29+, B+ average), so I think you should be fine.

McGill was tied with one another school for first choice for me…and I just got deferred for that other school. So I’m feeling pretty nervous about my McGill app.

Any other chances?

If it helps, my semester grades are looking like they’ll be 1 B+, either 2 or 3 A-s, and and either 3 or 4 As (with rigorous courseload)

For Arts, you have a good chance. Decisions for American applicants go out starting in late January so you will hear from McGill before the RD decisions at American schools.
