Chance me pleasee

So i'm applying to LA, I, SD, and SB under either Asian American Studies or Communications

My GPA is 3.48 but after my first year i'm only at 29 units (plus a 4 on AP Stats test; does that give me 4 more units?)
I also have a W and a class which i purposely failed because it was pass the deadline to drop and i didnt want a D...
I did make up the class though.

I just want a realistic mindset to have instead of worrying about somethign thats out of my control

Thanks (:

yes no maybe so?
oh and 60 units and igetc would be done by spring prior to transfer

If you do communications you have to have at least a 3.9 for ucla to even get looked at. Sucks, I know :frowning:
BUT, if you do AAS, I think you’d be a match for all of them! even UCLA isn’t so hard to get into if you apply to majors that’re not impacted!

Asian American Studies- You should be fine for all schools.
Communications- La is a no. The others I have no idea.

just out of curiosity because I’m doing horribly in a class…Why did you intentionally get the F over the D?

Yeah, i applied to LA with aas/asian humanities -_- but thank you for the semi-assurance
Oh and also, for prompt 1 (whats your intended major blah blah) i just wrote about AAS cuz LA is the preferable choice but SB i think didnt have it so i applied for Communications. Would the essay affect my chances?

Jeremybeach-representing valley ahaha

sohpie-oh well it was something like if i did decent on the final i would get a C and i didnt want a C/D so i just failed it to make sure i would be able to retake it

^ SB (and maybe SD, not sure its been a while) do not read personal statements for transfers so don’t worry about that
