Chance Me pls. will chance back :D

Schools I applied to:
UCSD( MY#1 PLS)
SDSU
CSU San Marcos
CSU Long Beach
San Jose University
UC Irvine
UC Berkeley
UC Davis

GPA: Unweighted)=3.92
UC GPA =4.25
Major-Biochemistry

SAT=1770-(yikes)
superscore-1840

In-state
Income <40k

Extracuricu. were ok, they weren’t terrible, but weren’t the best

Essays were some of the best i’ve ever wrote. One was about Insecurities and lack of confidence and how i finally learned how to break out of my shell. The other one was my rough childhood.

I really hope that UCSD accepts me because its my dream school but I know my sat score is definitely beyond mediocre. goodness March seems like lightyears away… Im pretty much at the brink of either waitlisted/rejected or (hopefully?!) accepted.

Chancing on non impacted major:

UCSD( MY#1 PLS)-Low Reach/Reach
SDSU-Match
CSU San Marcos- Safety
CSU Long Beach-Safety
San Jose University-Safety
UC Irvine-High Match
UC Berkeley-Reach
UC Davis-High Match

For some reason I think there is grade inflation at your school, due to HUGE discrepancy between GPA and SAT. Also, UC’s DON’T superscore.

Thanks for your input! My SAT score is terrible because I straight up winged the entire test and never cracked a book open despite buying a ton. I only took it once and I’m really bad at standardized testing so that probably explains my score. Ehhh i wouldn’t really say their is much grade inflation at my score since my school doesn’t really offer much easy APs or Honors. I only took 4 weighted classes combined in my 10th and eleventh. It was moreso my bad test taking skill :stuck_out_tongue: the superscore was for sdsu since its my second choice

I don’t think it’s bad testing taking; probably more like lack of studying. Everything on your list is possible, SD is a low reach and Berkeley will be a stretch.

yeah i made the terrible mistake of procrastinating until the absolute last time to take it (December). I just get super anxious and nervous when i take tests lol. Thanks for your input! college admission can seriously be straight up lottery tickets :o

^not really…not for mid UCs, that is.

Non uc, matches most likely, idk them which probably means they’re super hard to get into.
UCb-high reach, maybe less than 5%
I,D-high match
SD-high match low reach

if your essays are as good as you say they are, good luck. Thing is, people stress the essay portion since everyone’s stats are the same, hopefully yours covers your SAT score.

Nyu only school I want to get into
Weighted GPA 3.998
Unweighted not sure
first semester junior year got my first c
Overall in all other classes have mostly As and a few Bs
Sat score 2000
My high school is in Clayton county Georgia
I am in key club, nhs, Hosa

@NYUWARRIOR0121 This is a chance forum for me but i’ll chance you here i suppose lol. I’d say that nyu is probably at low reach because i have no idea what your weighted is. My school is highly competitive but a lot of kids actually got accepted to nyu at my school. Granted, many of them has 4.4 and like 2200, but anything is honestly because people with 4.0 weighted got in. I’d say you do have a good chance though. Good Luck!
