Chance me pls

I am an african american male student living in southeastern KY but was born in Cameroon, Africa. I have been accepted into the seminar for african american scholars at ND. My gpa is 4.0 unweighted and around 4.15 weighted. before i graduate, i would have taken 5 AP courses which would have been the maximum available at my high school. I have taken the ACT once and got a 28. 31 in math and English, 29 in science and 22 in reading. I have played varsity basketball all through high school. what are my chances of getting into ND and any other high profile schools?

Hahaha this can’t be serious. Just in case this is real, you have a 100% chance of being admitted at ND. With a slightly higher ACt you could prolly be guaranteed admission at any top school. I’d suggest Notre Dame though :)

thanks for the advice and im very surprised. I see a lot of others worrying about admission with better credentials than I so i wasn’t sure.

Your immigrant background, location, and athletics serve as huge hooks, and your academic credentials are nothing to scoff at. What makes you consider Notre Dame? I’d love to pitch it for you.

I love the fact that Notre Dame has a rich history and a great sense of community. I feel it would like offer a unique college experience. How do you feel about it?

I have an older sibling who already graduated, and I chose to attend Notre Dame myself this Fall. I fell in love with the sense of tradition and family that I found there, as you mentioned. The academics are phenomenal, as they would be at any school of ND’s caliber, and the strong alumni network is a plus for anyone looking to develop a career. I feel that ND’s religious heritage and the importance of faith (of all kinds) on campus is unique among top Universities. Notre Dame has an incredible athletics scene; not only does ND have the legendary football program, intramurals are huge and the campus overall is extremely fit and athletic. The last main draw to me for Notre Dame was how kind the students I met were. I don’t see how someone could be unhappy surrounded by so many good people.

To sum things up, while there are many Universities that could compete with Notre Dame in terms of rankings etc I think there isn’t a single one that has anything close to its intangibles.

I hope this helps. Good luck on the admissions process for whatever schools you’re interested in.
