Chance me pls.....

I agree that there are several other threads relating to chances of admission but I couldn't find the most active ones. Please be as honest as you possible can.

International Student from India. Applied Early Action for Fall 2009.

SAT I-2090 (CR 600 M 730 W 760) CR scores too damn low.......
SAT II- 2380 (M II 800 Phy 790 Chem 790)
TOEFL iBT-112 (R 28 L 29 S 28 W 27)

Class Rank 7/330
Year end scores have been over 92% since the 9th grade. Studied IB Middle Years Program for 1 year and GCSE for two years.

My curriculum is probably the toughest offered in the entire nation. Although uncredited for, it is harder than the IB.

Spent one summer at a coal mining company here along with 70 other students handpicked from various schools to collect ecological data in the woodlands around the mines. It was similar to an internship and involved data feeding to the GPS technology that the company already uses.

Recommendations are slightly uncommon as one teacher was a neighbor. Additional recommendation from the Pollution Control Board specifying activities during a summer. Decent to good essays for the CommonApp and the Stanford supplement.

I know that its a long shot but I still had to take a chance.

I just wanted to add that the Badminton Team is coached and the institute is run by a champion of the All England Badminton Championships. I have a referral from him too but couldn’t send it in to Stanford.

Your SATI is going to hurt you as an international. I am going to say rejected, but you never know. Good luck!

i agree with lolcats
you’re alread yon the fence becaus eof your weak SAT scores, and being an international student certainly does not help the situatio
i would say deffered or rejected

I don’t know why you’re adding your SAT II’s. But yea, your SAT I’s are too low. However, the only redeeming thing that might give you a chance is your performance in the Physics Olympiad. However, considering that only around 100 people from 60 countries get in, all of which have probably won at some national competition, the chances are slim. There’s still time, so retake the SAT’s.

A lot of this depends on whether or not you are applying for FA. If so, your chances are further reduced. However, you are a decent applicant but your SAT I scores and your international status hold you back…

I am not applying for aid. There is no way to take the SAT’s again as the next test date is in January and the decisions are posted in about 2 weeks. At least, I doubt retaking the test would influence the decision from Stanford.

oh, I forgot that you were SCEA. Yeah, taking the test again would be too late. If you’re not applying for aid, then I’d say you have a better chance.

Isn’t India one of the most competitive nation? I mean alot of really really competitive students come from there. I would say you would have a tough time getting in even if you are not applying for FA

Anyone think I have a remote shot at Stanford

So yea, I don’t know…I think all that is UVA worthy…

hahahaha you can’t post a chance on someone else’s chance thread!

lol, yea. For a second I thought you were an international as well. Although you’re not an international, your scores are too low to stand the chance. I think you’ll stand a chance at UVA, but Stanford might be too much a reach school.

haha yea, I just figured that it wouldn’t hurt to apply. And sorry!! I’m new on the website…

sorry, low SAT scores for stanford and International? :frowning: no go.

I thought Stanford is need blind?

stanford is need blind for US students not international students. it’s on the website under financial aid.
