From Northeastern's website:

"Generally, non-U.S. citizens are not eligible for federal, state or institutional aid. Non-citizens may be eligible for aid if they meet one of the following criteria:
• You are a U.S. permanent resident and have an Alien Registration Receipt Card (I-151 or I-551)
• You are a conditional permanent resident (I-151C)
• You are an other eligible non-citizen with an Arrival-Departure Record (I-94) from the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service showing one of the following designations: "Refugee," "Asylum Granted," "Indefinite Parole," "Humanitarian Parole" or "Cuban-Haitian Entrant."

You will not be considered for federal, state or institutional aid if you are in the U.S. on one of the following visas:
• F1 or F2 student visa
• J1 or J2 exchange visitor visa
• G series visa (pertaining to international organizations)"

Frequently Asked Questions - Northeastern University Student Financial Services

hey thnx dntw8up,

but could I also know my chances fo being accepted in NE university?

Although admissions for international students are generally more competitive I'd say you're in!

Hey. While NEU does not offer financial aid to international students, it does offer merit scholarships. I'm international ( Indian citizen ) and was offered $10k a year while my friend who is an international student ( Malaysian citizen ) was offered $16k a year. I need a 3.0 to maintain the scholarship while my friend needs a 3.2. Hence, to anwer your question, you can get a merit based scholarship. I got accepted with a 30 ACT and 3.8 unweighted a few good EC.s

hey thnx guys

jai6638 i suppose that the cost of studying at NE is around 45k $ a year and it just provides 10-15k? is there any way of getting more aid? any athletic or other scholarships?

Hey.. yes the highest amount I've heard is 16k after which it becomes the presidential scholarship or whatever in which they offer to cover the full tuition amount. This information is on Northeastern's website so check it out under "merit scholarships".

thnx jai6638 for the info

Hi jai6638 I am an malaysian too. I am very interested in northeastern university pharmacy and co-op program but are worried of my chances to the uni.
Do you mind post your malaysian friend stats. please
