Portfolio: got great comments at the review session.

I think my activities are primarily focused on my possible majors.

do I have a "chance" ? i know my UW gpa isn't fabulous, but i'm going into an art related field, do you really think 3.4 is going to affect my chance?

Wow you have a great SAT, but a 3.4 UW isn't going to get you very far. It is most likely going to be on the bottom of each of the admission pools for every school. You still have a chance though. Try not to make a laundry list maybe.

Cornell: Reach
Carnegie Mellon: Match
Pratt- Match
NYU- Match/maybe reach

your UW gpa is not the high, but you are taking IB classes, so the colleges should keep that in mind. besides that, great scores and ECs, so I think everything but cornell is a match. cornell is a very very high reach (i think your gpa would be the only thing stopping you).

I'm in the same boat. My standardized testing is good, and my UW GPA sucks. Basically, what I've been getting told is that I have to stand out, and make my EC and Standardized overshadow my GPA. So with great essays that show our passion in specific areas, yours in art, mine in writing, we have a good chance at those schools.

Does Carnegie Mellon have a good design program? I always thought of it as an engineering/math school.
