Already had an interview

Classes
AP Bio, AP Physics, AP Calculus AB, AP English Literature, Honors Engineering, Honors Spanish IV, AP Chemistry

Excellent chance!!! You look like a great candidate for Wake, you appear to have the well roundedness, and community service that they really like. Hope the interview went well. Bet your essays will be great - look up their motto if you do not know it already. My D is a freshman there and loves it.

Confused 19 ACT...? and an unweighted gpa of 3.96?

For a person who has a VERY high gpa with difficult classes like AP Bio and a really really low ACT thats really weird

GPA looks GREAT you have a better chance than I do

I mean seeing that 19 ACT it shows that your school isn't challenging.. and your ap classes are not really ap classes....

Sorry if I'm being rude but it really frustrates me when I do terrible on AP or Honors Classes at my school and somebody from a different school with "ez" AP or Honor classes gets an A

Anyways you have a better chance than I do....

IDK that is a really low ACT score. I think you need to probably improve it by 10 points.
You really need to work on those scores, because although they are optional they are still considered. Unless you have really special circumstances or bring something to the table (URM status, international, speak several languages, etc.)

the average composite score in 2008 was 21.1, which means your ACT score was below average...very strange for someone in APs and with that high of a GPA...

but its a good thing u dont need to send in that ACT score, and your average is just fine for Wake so good luck!

yeah you'll look a lot better if you dont send in those ACT's. if you retake them, send them in if you get about a 26 or higher. and madjoker, some people are just poor test takers but are smart in classes.

Greatape123 your right i am a very poor test taker, i have test anxiety and that's why i do very bad on timed tests, im trying my level best so hopefully i do well on December 13 thank you all for your input appreciate it.

Not for Wake Forest, nationally right? A 21 is still pretty low. A 27 is roughly low 1200s (old scale b/c Wake doesn't care about writing) and even that is a stretch. Don't stress about them though.

Joker, how do you know his classes are easier? Maybe he just isn't a good test taker. Personally, whenever I took a practice test at home I always got high 1400s/low 1500s, but when I took the test in school I got so nervous that I dropped into the low 1300s. So please do not make assumptions.

Oh yes willmingtonwave, sorry I didn't mention that...the 21 ACT score is the national average, definitely not Wake's, which I would think is probably a 30-31, or at least up there.

I think you have a good chance. Solid ECs and GPA. Don't sweat the ACT score. I'm fairly certain that Wake doesn't use any standardized testing as an admissions factor.

I would not worry about your ACT score. I know Wake Forest did a study about standardized test scores and they found out that they do not predict if you are going to be a successful student in college. Wake Forest wants all of their prospective students to have an interview. As of now only 25% do, so you have great chances!!
Good Luck!

I think Elizabeth90505 is way off the mark. You definitely have a shot. But it's not as high as she would have you believe. That ACT score is low.

I just remembered Wake's supposedly not factoring in standardized testing... so, who knows? Good luck anyway.
