Hi everyone, I am a freshman now and want to attend material sciences and engineering program at UIUC.

Here is my information,

International student, eastern asian, female

SAT highest: CR 670+ MATH 800+ WR 690=2160 toefl expired, want to waive by CR
SAT Subjects: Math II 800 Physics 800 Chemistry 790
Have AP Calculus BC 5, Physics C E&M 5, Physics Mech 5, Chemistry 5

High school (in my home country): straight A

Current college: Emory U (CAS)
First semester GPA 4.0

First semester courses:
(advanced level) Organic Chem I for freshman
English writing
Seminar on Environmental science-----likely not transferrable :(
Gen Biology I with lab

Second semester course load :
(advanced level) Organic Chem II for freshman
Micro econ
(advanced level) Multivariable Cal (or Cal III)
Philosophy: intro into ethnics------not sure whether transferrable or not :(

EC and Honors: average level i guess. had some intern experience in biological pharmacy lab at my home country; no other ECs highly related to my major.

essays: going to say about my switch of interest from theoretical chemistry (my major at current college) to engineering, which is more about practical application of sciences.

other: applied as freshman in HS senior year and was admitted into the LAS. Should I explain that in my essays?

Because application to Eng School is highly competitive I have been worried much these days. I have an ACES major (food science) as my second choice. And UIUC does not require professors' evaluation, I guess the admission relays more on scores and essays?

Any advice please? THX !!!
