So, im 24 years old, and took more than a few years off of school. Back when i was 18/19 I had a 2.5ish GPA with like 6 W's attending 1 semester at an university in Lousiana and the rest at DVC(a top CC in cali)

I took AP calc AB in HS and got a 3 on the exam.

I started school again last year and I have 4.0s every semester. I work full time and have been working fulltime since i was 18.

My personal statements are 9/10-10/10 material.

My Major is Business Econ. (econ for berkeley) I signed my TAG with Davis and Irvine so im looking for chances of UCLA, UCB, and UCSD.

Here are my stats:

Cum GPA of 3.51
4.0 ever since returning to school full time last year
4.0 in all my major pre req classes

Work Full time for the past 6 years.
Currently working at a bank as a PB2 for the past year
Have my real estate Lic. for 3 years

Bunch of awards and EC in HS for sports and piano.

Math Tutor for HS this year - only community service i have :(

Attended STOMP at UCLA a couple times.

I am Persian, Born in America, Parents from Iran.
Both parents graduated from 4 yr schools in America.

IGETC completed after this semester. So what are my chances?? LOL :P

pretty damn good id say. probably should have applied for Has at berkeley, very likely to get in with those stats.
i applied to the same majors as you but I've achieved way less. then again I'm only 19 :P

wow... that was quick! lol... yeah i was thinking about Haas, but thern again, i wanted the BEST chace to get into UCB, plus i LOVE econ. :) I plan on getting my MBA so maybe Haas is for my for grad school...

keep them coming guys! i dont think i canw ait until april! lol

thx for the reply! hope you get into UCB alex! :)

I'd say that UCSD is close to a lock. I think you probably have completed the TAG requirements for SD, so that plus IGETC should get you in. At UCLA, I would say you have a chance, but not a great one. Your GPA is substantially lower than the average biz/econ acceptee, but you also probably have better "soft" factors than most applicants, if what you say is true. I would say that you have a chance that is less than 50%, but greater than 10%. I won't try to get more specific than that, because it would just be uninformed speculation. I would have a similar opinion of your Berkeley chances, as Berkeley is a slightly more selective school than LA, but LA's Biz/Econ is a more competitive major than Berkeley's econ, so it approximately balances out.

thx magic.. My dream school has always been UCLA, and i know for the buz econ major i need around a 3.8

I was hoping, since i am a little older, more mature, really focused and dedicated would push me over the hump. My upward trend in my grades is something else i really hoped they would take into consideration. All my Cs and Bs are all in BS classes like speech, sign language admin. justice.

All my Econ, Calc, Accouting, business computer, higher english classes i have As.
