Hi guys!
I juss graduated from NYU this May with Chemistry B.S. degree.
I got GPA of 3.96/4.00 and due to the research course I took I have the highest honor in chemistry. Also, I graduated with summa cum laude.
I have a year of research experience in a biochemistry lab, and I submitted a thesis which was checked by the committee at NYU but not publicly released.
But I am not sure whether this research experience would be helpful since I want to apply for organic chemistry program.
I don't know whether it is helpful, but I am also a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Lambda Upsilon at NYU, and received two awards for good GPA.

I took GRE twice without studying..
First time, I got 152 on verbal and 170 on quant, and 3.5 on writing.
Then, I got 153 on verbal and 166 on quant, and the writing score hasn't been released yet.

I took GRE subject (chemistry) and scored 740.. which was 56%.

I want to apply for the top 1~20 graduate schools with phD or masters program in organic chemistry.

Do you guys think I should take a year for studying GRE and subject exam?

Also, one more question, what's the main difference b/w phD degree and masters degree besides the fact that masters requires 2 yrs while phD 5 yrs? I know many top schools do not have masters degree in chemistry for some reason.. How do they differ when I try to get a job later?

Please give me some advice
