<p>i'll be applying to schools very soon and MIT is near the top of my list, so i'd like to get an idea of my chances of getting in.</p>

<p>Rank: School doesn't rank, but i should be in top 5% of my class</p>

<p>SAT I: 800 M, 800 W, 710 CR (2310 Total)</p>

<p>SAT II's: 800 Physics, 750 USH, 750 Math IIC</p>

<p>ACT: 34</p>

<p>AP Scores: Bio, Euro History, US History, Physics B, English Lang (5's on all of them)</p>

<p>Senior Courses: AP Stats, AP Chem, AP Eng Lit, AP Spanish, AP Amer Gov (I also took calc through cal state fullerton my junior year)</p>

<p>EC's: 4 years marching band
4 years Jazz Ensemble (section leader for one year)
Math Club Participant (made AIME twice)
Science Olympiad member
Attended UCI COSMOS program and researched topics of astronomy </p>

<p>Awards: National Merit Semifinalist (most likely)
medal for science olympiad in designer genes
Honor Roll at school
Heritage Award for US History (awarded to top students of a certain subject at my school)</p>

<p>Recs: Should be good, i have close relations with most of my teachers</p>

<p>Essays: I plan on discussing my passion for math/science</p>

<p>MIT is a reach. You don't have anything that really stands out.</p>

<p>Your stats are good enough. It's going to be a matter of fit and luck - MIT is a reach for everyone (it certainly was for me).</p>

<p>Have you read the essay topics? I have. You won't be able to answer all of them, or most of them actually, with discussion of your passion for math/science, and if you try to stretch the topics so that you can, it's going to be obvious that you're stretching to tell Admissions what you think they want to hear.</p>
