Chance me plz

I have a EC and recommendations.Just tell me if my grades are ok
Gpa:3.3(going up)
SAT:1540/2400
ACT:23-26(thats what i got on practice hoping to get 26 on real thing)
30% top class rank.
From NYC

Chance me plz

Your grades are a little on the low side but not terribly. Your SAT is very low. Unless you do considerably well on the ACT, I’d say you should focus on some of the other SUNYs.

Will 26 on ACT work?

That’s even a bit low. Anything is possible because you never know but it has become very competetive. My son has a similar average and 1860/2400 (which is roughly an equivalent of a 28 ACT). He’ll find out soon. When he finds out, I’ll post here.

He did get into Albany (didn’t apply to any other SUNYs).

I think you may have a problem with both. I think a minimum 1350 SAT (Math/Eng) and possibly closer to a 28 ACT would be helpful. Keep getting your avg. up too.

Its not my top choice anyway. But still I plan to apply and give it a shot.Ty for posting though

good luck to you Future13!

i dont think having only one EC will help either

You need a 28 ACT and about a 3.8 or 4.0 Grade equivilant

3.8? Really?

Would a 32 ACT and 3.3 UW GPA be okay? My bf had mono (still isn’t over it, was out of school for a month during junior year, was really behind in classes, etc.) He’s taken 3 AP’s (CS A - 4, USH - 3, WH - 3) and a couple honors courses. A couple AP’s and honors courses senior year too.

He has great recs, I’m sure (one of his teachers actually offered to write one haha) and a great essay.

EC’s are okay (e.g. 3 Best Delegate Awards for MUN–unfortunately he’s only been doing it for 1.5 years, Mock Trial, co-founder and co-pres of Young Democrats & Liberals Club, treasurer of TATF… um, no school sports but does karate, brown belt, plays guitar/takes private lessons)

Nothing else coming to mind right now… oh, he’s caucasian and in-state. Sorry, I’m totally jacking someone else’s chance thread…
