Hey, they let you know if you are admitted at their office of undergrad admissions at NYU-Poly?

^ I’m the receptionist there right now. I can tell you that all I’m ONLY allowed to tell you is if they’ve made a decision yet (i.e. the database says so). The admissions counselors… ehh I don’t know. It may depend on their style. I can totally imagine them feeling all warm and fuzzy about your being accepted so if you were to ask (in-person), they’d blurt out “of course!” or “CONGRATS” or something cute like that haha. But the official rule is: we tell you nothing [important] :P

thanks anyone else!?

Really anyone else?

-Cooper Union - match
-Massachusetts Institute of Technology - reach
-Columbia University Fu Foundation School of Engineering (Applying for the HEOP/NOP program) - reach
-Cornell (Applying for the HEOP/NOP program) - low reach
-Macaulay Honors College (the campus I am picking is City College, the only one that provides engineering) - match
-Polytechnic Institute of NYU - in
-Manhattan College - match

Thank you anyone else???

Any more chancing?

bump :D

Cornell I would say in…
MIT - Reach

O_O CORNELL IN?!?!? HOLY S**T I HOPE YOU ARE RIGHT! What about the others?

-Cooper Union: match
-Massachusetts Institute of Technology: reach (but that’s for most of us aiming for MIT)
-Columbia University Fu Foundation School of Engineering: low reach/match
-Cornell: low reach/match

The math SAT would be the only thing… besides that… all I can say is… GOOD LUCK!!!

btw, thanks for chancing mine ^-^

Hey, thanks for chancing me and i’d say that MIT might be a reach but Cornell (a bit) and the other schools look well within your grasp. Your scores are competitive and your extra curriculum looks outstanding. The admission officers keep a keen eye out for people like you, i’d say good luck and don’t stress cause your stats look phenomenal :)

Thanks everyone

anyone else?

CU - low reach/reach
MIT - reach
Columbia - low reach/reach
Cornell - high match

thnx for chancing me :)

I think your stats are impressive and so are your ec’s! ANd you speak 2 languages. you have a lot going for you. I don’t really know much about this getting accepted stuff. That’s why I 've been asking too. But I think Mathattan is a definite. And I bet Cornell will accept you. Probably MIT and Cooper Union are the hardest. Good Luck! and thanks for chancing me.

Macaulay wise I think you stand a fair chance. Scores are a little low but not bad at all (avg this year was a 1400 at city I think). Likewise with your gpa, decent but not stellar. EC’s are very good and I think your background will help. With a good essay I think you stand as good a shot as most applicants. High match probably.

Cheers,
Mike

For what I can tell, I think you’d be in at Cooper Union, but a far stretch from Cornell, MIT and Columbia. I can’t really attest to the other schools (except probably in at Manhattan College)

Good luck, and thanks for the chance!

thanks everyone. more opinions? the more the merrier!

This is difficult to say. Your scores are well below those of the average applicant, but they will take low income into consideration. Being URM doesn’t hurt either.

You’ve got a shot, but it’s tough to say. The Ivies + MIT remain reaches.

thanks for chancing me!

-Cooper Union - reach
-Massachusetts Institute of Technology -reach
-Columbia University Fu Foundation School of Engineering - reach
-Cornell - idk about the program, but my brother got waitlisted here with basically same stats. so i’d say high match/ low reach
-Macaulay Honors College - match/ high match
-Manhattan College - in!
you should look at rose hulman! or u of rochester!
