I'm really want to go into some field of science with some kind of minor in spanish and eventually be a doctor.

You have a good shot at Penn too Jacque. Do you think you'd do better on the SAT if you took it another time? That would really guarantee you a spot if you had a 2300+. Other than that, you look set. Plus, the URM should definitely help.

if i don't feel confident in applying to wharton, what other schools could i apply to that could still give me a good chance of getting in? i'm still kinda undecided on my major. i want to do something in biology but i haven't taken the SATII and i heard you need that (i took mathII, spanish, ush a couple weeks ago). i could see myself doing something in the math area too. i have no idea. now i'm just blabbering. help!

WUSTL MATCH [depending on how much demonstrated interest]
Duke LOW REACH
Northwestern MATCH
UPenn LOW REACH

Your SAT's are within range for these universities, but if you would like to better your chances, then you could re-take. They seem fine though. One part of your app. that may be of concern is your GPA. I'm not sure how competitive your HS may be, but raising that should probably be your #1 priority. Your EC's pretty good; try to garner more leadership positions and awards. Things like National Merit Commended and Spanish Honor Society are not going to reallly distinguish you from the rest of the pool, so try to get awards that will make you stand out more in your field.

For Penn, I think that you have a great chance at The College, taking into account your URM status. Definitely apply!

Note: If you don't want to apply to Wharton, and you want to do business, you could look into Cornell AEM, NYU Stern, Berkeley Haas, or Michigan Ross. I think they all have undergraduate programs, except you apply as a sophomore for Haas. Berkeley may be difficult to get into OOS.

i dont think i'm gonna retake the SAT's. i think i got lucky w/ what i got so i'm gonna keep w/ that. i'm somewhere between the 50% and 75% (i think). yeah those 3 B's freshmen year really screwed me. i've tried to improve since then though. i've gotten one less B every year since. hopefully next year will continue the trend.
my highschool is really competitive. it's one of the top private schools in texas consistently. median sat range is better than most colleges (1360-1530).
i have more leadership stuff that i just chose not to put in there to save on space, but yeah i'm kinda worried in the honors department. i don't have a lot of those. it's to get those at my school though w/ so many genius kids.
thanks god for AA.
