I would really appreciate some input on my resume. Also, i would like to know what you guys think about my ECs.. are they good/bad/okay?

I think your ok for U of M. The SAT is good and you GPA is fine…thats what state schools mostly focus on so thats good for you as your ECs are average at best. I think you should definately apply. If you don’t then you will be rejected. Good luck

Only issue is whether GPA is good enough. EC’s are fine.

I beleive the GPA is fine

Chart yourself

Wow thanks guys! I wasn’t expecting replies so quickly. I’m a tiny bit sad to hear that my EC’s are just average at best, because I thought my focus on journalism would make resume more impressive… but what do i know haha.

Egelloc80, using charts like that can be very misleading for a whole bunch of reasons. It is much better to base chances off of the raw data provided by the institution and not some out-of-date, limited, and 3rd party chart. You can find raw data [here and here (2011)](http://www.admissions.umich.edu/drupal/about-our-applicants).

Devrybound, I believe your EC’s are slightly above average, and so is your SAT. Given that you have AP scholars with Honors, your course rigor seems fine as well. What you should be concerned about now, is your GPA. Last year, the average unweighted GPA for an accepted student was a 3.83, and it is expected to increase slightly this year. You should also be aware that GPA is the single most important factor when it comes to admission to Michigan. So the question now is, are your strengths in course rigor, extracurriculars and standardized tests enough to make up for your GPA? I don’t know the answer to that question, and the only way to find out is through applying.
