Chance me, pretty please?

Schools I'm interested in: Brown, Cornell, Duke, Georgetown, UPenn, Johns Hopkins, Yale (lol I know...no need to bash me)

Grade: Rising Senior
Gender: Female
Location: New Jersey
Ethnicity: Black/African-American (side note: actually mixed with Indian but yea...)

Rank: my school doesn't rank, but I estimate top 5% (I was qualified for a scholarship that went to students with the top 5 GPA's)

SAT I super score: 2210 (690 cr, 780 math, 740 writing, 11 essay)
I'm aware that most of these schools don't accept Score Choice, but look at the highest!
SAT II: Chemistry - 780; US History - 740; taking Math II in October (prepping this summer)
GPA: weighted is higher than a 4.0

APs- total of 7 APs

Junior Year: 3 APs
AP Chemisty: waiting for scores
AP US History: waiting for scores
AP English Lang: did not take a course, but was encouraged to take exam
Let's say I get 4 or higher on these (maybe 3 in AP Eng Lang, but hey I didn't even prep)

Senior Year: 4 APs
AP Spanish
AP Calc AB
AP English Literature
AP Physics B

Other Courses-

Junior Year:
English III High Honors
Precalculus High Honors
Physics High Honors
Spanish High Honors
(Required: Physics Ed III, Religious Studies III)

Senior Year:
(Required: Humanities, Religious Studies IV, Physical Ed IV, Art II)
Remember... In addition to 4 APs lol

I would have taken 5 years of math (Alg I HH, Geom H, Alg II HH, Precalc HH, AP Calc) and 5 years of science (Bio H, Chem HH, AP Chem, Physics HH, AP Physics) over my high school career.

HONORS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Looks fairly good. SAT CR could use some improvement, but if you don’t think you can get it above 700, then your SAT score is fine. Your AP Scores worry me a little. I would really hope that you get 5s on all of them. The thing about APs is you can think you failed them and then actually get a really good score B/c curve so hopefully you got all 5s

A lot of the stuff you put down for ECs seems like you’re just trying to list every thing you ever done rather than stuff you have actually put a large amount of time into. Things like the AP Chem trip, Debate Judge, and Open house tour guide don’t really show your academic personality and what you are really interested in. They seem to cloud up your resume.

But underneath that cloudiness is definitely a good profile! I think you have really good shots at Cornell, Duke and JHU. (BTW you might want to look at some higher ranking schools that are easy to get into such as UC Berkeley) If you write good essays you have a chance at getting into even better schools. Good Luck!

well whats ur unweighted. and also how high is ur weighted? If your school doesnt rank what you think you rank wont matter at all. colleges wont know that, all they will see will be your gpa. nice ecs. pretty well rounded. But I still think that these schools should be kept as reach schools. Even someone with a 24k and 4.0 should keep them reach just for the fact that they are ivy leagues. When you say u are mixed with indian do you mean native american or subcontinental asia. Thats important lol. If native american i would give u a 60%. If indian dont report that at all to colleges. again, what exactly is your gpa. or a godn estimate. Get that SAT up at least 70 points and ur looking at mby a 20% chance for each.

Thanks for the input! I’m done with SAT I’s so that’s as good as it’s going to get. I really hope I get some 5s too! I’m going with 4s as kind of a worst case scenario. And yeah, my EC’s seem laundry-list like. I’m going to work on tweaking my resume to show my interests better. Thanks for chancing me!! :)

@nikhilbg
unweighted is a 97, weighted 100+.
I’m mixed with subcontinental asia a.k.a. why I plan on listing as African American/Black
And I don’t plan on taking my SATs again…sucks to suck
Thanks for being harsh I guess!

Lol here’s my newer thread if you don’t mind:
